    Assistant Maintenance Officer

    Roles for the Assistant Maintenance Officer Job

    • Coordinate and implement minor repair works from carpentry, masonry, welding and plumbing works to ensure optimum use of buildings and machinery within the University;
    • Coordinate maintenance of roads and electrical installations to ensure access to the University and minimize electrical faults;
    • Organize University workshops as well as the maintenance stores to ensure all the equipment are under safe custody;
    • Supervise University projects by ensuring use of the right quality materials as specified in the Bill of Quantities;

    Roles for the Maintenance Assistant Job

    Planning and Development Registrar

    Duties for the Planning and Development Registrar Job

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision and management of all functions pertaining to the Office of the Registrar Planning and Development. Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Finance, Planning and Development, the incumbent will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and monitor physical infrastructure, planning and development, maintenance and repair of existing facilities.
    • Coordinate the development and implementation of the Master Plan.
    • Coordinate and collect evidence for performance targets and preparation of the division’s performance contract quarterly reports.
    • Design and conduct surveys to obtain feedback from key stakeholders such as students, staff, alumni, research partners, public and private sector on satisfaction levels, service standards and educational needs.
    • Develop and administer the departmental budget.
    • Coordinate the preparation, review and implementation of the strategic plan.
    • Communicate, follow-up and implement decisions of Management and Management Committees.
    • Coordinate and implement development projects and prepare capital project plans and management reports.
    • Work closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development) in ensuring that the planning and development department operates effectively and efficiently in line with the University and Government policies.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development) from time to time.

    Planning and Development Registrar Job Requirements

    For appointment to this grade, one must have:-

    • An earned Ph.D. degree from a recognized University with five (5) years of work experience, three (3) of which as Deputy Registrar Scale 14 or its equivalent.
    • Masters Degree in a relevant field plus CPS (K) or equivalent professional qualification with ten (10) years administrative experience, three (3) of which as Deputy Registrar Scale 14 or its equivalent.
    • A first degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Architecture Engineering.
    • Be registered with relevant professional body, preferably a full member of the same.
      Be ICT Competent.
    • Additional professional qualification and experience in handling of planning and development projects will be an added advantage.
    • NOTE: Shortlisted candidates for the position of Registrar Grade 15 ,Planning and Development will be required to have current clearance certificates from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Criminal Investigation department (CID) and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

    • Implement farm work plans to ensure they are understood by all stake holders and followed and ensure that set targets are achieved;

    • Coordinate market surveys by developing questionnaires to know the market trends at a given time and to guide on what to produce;
    • Provide regular updates of the field operations to the farm manager in order to inform decision making on improvements for productivity at reduced cost.

    Assistant Farm Manager Job Requirements

    • A Master’s Degree in Agriculture or its equivalent.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or its equivalent from a recognized University with nine (9) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Farm Assistant I.
    • A Postgraduate Diploma in General Agriculture or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
    • Shown merit and ability in work performance and results.
