    Database Administrator

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 10

    • Manage SQL Server and MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
    • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
    • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
    • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
    • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
    • Prepare documentations and specifications
    • Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration
    • Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
    • Configure and maintain database servers and processes

    DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: NOT MORE THAN 5 OF THE MOST TYPICAL

    • Routine production database support functions including and not limited to checking for tablespace free space, fragmentation, checking for nightly / weekly back-up status, checking production databases for critical errors and creating SRs with tech support and follow-up.
    • Resolving all database-related issues and working closely with the Development, Project Management and staff
    • Ensuring for security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery are performed.
    • Overseeing backups, replication and failover and running optimally.
    • Monitoring Database systems and platforms for availability.

    The Person

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • A bachelor’s degree in IT or other IT/Engineering related
    • Professional certification in MS SQL, MySQL Certification will be an added advantage 
    • At least 3 years of experience in IT. 
    • At least 2 years of experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL and MS SQL database administration
    • At least 2 years of experience in Data Warehousing 
    • At least 2 years of experience in Banking Operations is desired

    Ecosystem Lead Faith-Based Organizations (FBO)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Ecosystem Strategy Development & Execution

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive ecosystem banking strategy tailored to the Faith-Based Organizations sector.
    • Design tailored financial solutions aligned to the needs of religious institutions, including banking, lending, digital channels, and value chain financing.

    Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

    • Establish and grow relationships with FBO leadership, umbrella organizations, religious associations, educational arms, and affiliated enterprises.
    • Act as the primary liaison between the bank and FBOs, ensuring strong brand positioning and sector trust.

    Growth & Revenue Mobilization

    • Drive onboarding of FBO accounts and their affiliated institutions (e.g., schools, hospitals, community groups).
    • Expand wallet share through cross-sell of KCB products such as LPO financing, working capital loans, digital payments, school fee collection solutions, and more

    Digital & Product Innovation

    • Collaborate with product and digital teams to co-create embedded solutions for tithe collections, church member accounts, mobile apps, and SME credit.
    • Explore and integrate fintech partnerships to digitize giving, reporting, and community engagement tools for FBOs.

    Data-Driven Ecosystem Mapping

    • Map and maintain a live database of key FBO value chain actors (suppliers, schools, hospitals, members, affiliated businesses).
    • Use data analytics to identify financing gaps and craft targeted sector campaigns.

    Internal Alignment & Coordination

    • Coordinate with Corporate, Retail, Bancassurance, Mortgage, KCB Foundation and DFS teams for aligned client engagement.
    • Champion mirror reporting to ensure fair attribution and cross-unit performance recognition.

    Thought Leadership & Advocacy

    • Represent KCB in relevant FBO forums, conferences, and sector engagements to grow visibility and impact.
    • Provide insights on sector trends, policy shifts, and risks affecting the FBO banking segment.

    Ecosystem Lead Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) Sector

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategy Development & Execution

    • Design and implement an ecosystem strategy for NGOs, foundations, and donor-funded projects.
    • Translate sector needs into targeted Customer Value Propositions (CVPs), encompassing banking, credit, payments, insurance, and digital channels.

    Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with NGOs, funding partners, UN agencies, government-aligned programs, and implementation partners.
    • Engage with procurement officers, grant managers, finance directors, and program leads to provide comprehensive banking solutions.

    Ecosystem Structuring & Value Chain Finance

    • Map NGO value chains (e.g., implementing partners, suppliers, contractors, field agents).
    • Develop and promote financing solutions for:
    • NGO contractors and vendors
    • Healthcare and education programs
    • Relief supply and logistics networks
    • Introduce tailored lending models (e.g., program-based credit, LPO financing, guarantee-backed funding).

    Product Innovation & Digitization

    • Co-develop embedded banking tools for:
    • Donor disbursements
    • Beneficiary payments
    • Mobile-based grant tracking and reporting
    • Leverage fintechs to digitize cash transfer programs, field agent payments, and NGO treasury services.

     Internal Coordination & Collaboration

    • Work cross-functionally with Corporate, Retail, Micro-Banking, DFS, Treasury, and Bancassurance to deliver aligned solutions.
    • Coordinate ecosystem sales enablement and performance reporting across business units.
    • Ensure proper revenue attribution and joint scorecard reviews across contributing teams.

    Data & Performance Analytics

    • Maintain an up-to-date NGO ecosystem database with funding levels, projects, geographies, and transaction volumes.
    • Track and analyze ecosystem KPIs including deposits, credit utilization, product penetration, and client engagement.

    Thought Leadership & Sector Visibility

    • Represent KCB in NGO forums, donor workshops, and sector networks.
    • Generate insights on trends in aid financing, humanitarian innovations, and regulatory changes impacting NGOs segment.
