Mandatory Requirements
For appointment to this level an officer must have:
- Served for a cumulative period of fifteen (15) years, five (5) of which must have been at the grade of General Manager or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master’s Degree from in any of the following disciplines: Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Strategic Management or a related qualification from a recognized institution;
- Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Membership with a relevant professional body, where applicable and be in good standing;
- Valid practicing certificate where applicable;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Demonstrated outstanding managerial and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results;
- Exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to the institution’s mandate; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
